Job summary

Bodycote in Fountain Inn, SC is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support the heat treatment operations by maintaining the shipping and receiving area, helping load/unload trucks, and preparing shipments under supervision.

The role requires basic computer skills (Microsoft Office), the ability to use a pallet jack, and clear English communication. It is safety-sensitive with hours 8am–4:30pm, Monday–Friday, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• ITAR compliance requirements: US citizens or permanent residents only.
• Education – High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year experience with computer applications (Microsoft Office) and ability to learn new software.
• Some shipping experience is desired.
• Must be able to operate a pallet jack and read/write English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize the shipping and receiving area.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks; schedule UPS/FedEx shipments.
• Create Bills of Lading (BOLs) for shipments.
• Interact with customers to clarify discrepancies and schedules.
• Inspect and record incoming/outgoing orders for count, damage, dates, etc.

Position Summary

Based in Fountain Inn SC the Shipping & Receiving Clerk will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Production Manager to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

• Maintains shipping and receiving area as needed.
• Assists with loading and unloading trucks. Schedules truck shipments, UPS, and FedEx as needed.
• Creates Bill of Ladings for shipments (BOL’s)
• Interacts with customers as needed to clarify or communicate discrepancies and schedules.
• Inspects and records incoming and outgoing orders for count, damage, dates, etc.
• Brings any irregularities or other discrepancies/concerns to supervisor immediately.
• Promotes and practices safety and good housekeeping.
• Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
• This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
• Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.

Qualifications

• This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
• Education – High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year experience in computer applications including Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new software programs related to function.
• Some shipping experience desired.
• Must be able to use a pallet jack.
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language.

Physical & Mental Demands

• Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an industrial environment.
• Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
• Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
• Ability to lift 35 lbs.
• May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
• Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
• Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone.
