Job summary

Bodycote is seeking a shipping/receiving associate in a 40+ hour per week role, with a 6:00am-2:00pm shift, Monday–Friday and occasional weekends/holidays. This safety-sensitive position requires ITAR compliance and a high school diploma, plus 5+ years shipping experience and forklift certification.

The role involves handling customer inventories, coordinating shipments, and maintaining accuracy in orders while upholding safety and quality standards.

Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical; have the ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week. The hours for this position are 6:00am-2:00pm, Monday-Friday, weekends & holidays if needed.

Due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market, Bodycote deems this position to be safety-sensitive.

Summary

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):

• Maintains shipping and receiving area as needed.
• Assists with loading and unloading trucks. Schedules truck shipments, UPS, and FedEx as needed.
• Interacts with customers as needed to clarify or communicate discrepancies and schedules.
• Inspects and records incoming and outgoing orders for count, damage, dates, etc.
• Brings any irregularities or other discrepancies/concerns to supervisor immediately.
• Promotes and practices safety and good housekeeping.
• Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
• This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
• Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.

Qualifications:

• This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
• Education – High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year experience in computer applications including Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new software programs related to function.
• 5+ shipping experience required.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
• Must possess time management skills.
• Must be able to maintain professionalism and provide excellent customer service.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language.

Physical & Mental Demands:

• Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an industrial environment.
• Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
• Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
• Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
• Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone.
