Job summary

Green Electronic Solutions is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our mission-driven team in Plainfield, IL. You will help ensure efficient warehouse operations and accurate inventory management.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in shipping/logistics, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. A forklift certification is a plus. We offer a supportive workplace with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in shipping, receiving, warehouse logistics, or inventory control.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel with formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables.
• Knowledge of shipping docs: BOLs, packing slips, freight paperwork.
• Strong organization and time management with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against POs and packing slips.
• Prepare and process outbound shipments with BOLs, packing lists, labels.
• Schedule pickups and deliveries with freight carriers and transport companies.
• Maintain inventory records using Excel and warehouse systems.
• Create/update spreadsheets for inventory tracking and reporting.
• Analyze shipping data and prepare management reports using Pivot Tables.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to stage, load, and ship materials.
• Communicate shipment status with customers, vendors, and teams.
• Support general warehouse operations and OSHA/compliance policies.

What You’ll Do: Key Responsibilities

As a Shipping & Receiving Associate, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring efficient warehouse operations and accurate inventory management. Your responsibilities will include:

• - Receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
• - Preparing and processing outbound shipments, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing lists, shipping labels, and carrier documentation.
• - Scheduling pickups and deliveries with freight carriers, brokers, and transportation companies.
• - Maintaining accurate inventory records using Microsoft Excel and warehouse management systems.
• - Creating and updating spreadsheets for inventory tracking, shipping schedules, freight costs, and operational reporting.
• - Analyzing shipping data and preparing reports for management using advanced Excel functions like Pivot Tables and formulas.
• - Coordinating with warehouse staff to ensure materials are staged, loaded, and shipped accurately.
• - Communicating professionally with customers, vendors, and internal teams regarding shipment status.
• - Supporting general warehouse operations and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.

What We’re Looking For: Required Skills & Qualifications

To excel in this role, you’ll need:

• - A minimum of 3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse logistics, or inventory control.
• - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required) with experience in formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and data analysis.
• - Strong knowledge of shipping documentation, including BOLs, packing slips, and freight paperwork.
• - Excellent organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail.
• - The ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• - Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• - Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following skills and experience are a plus:

• - Background in the electronics recycling (ITAD), manufacturing, or logistics industry.
• - Familiarity with UPS, FedEx, DHL, and LTL freight systems.
• - Forklift certification or willingness to become certified.
• - Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• - Experience preparing shipping metrics and operational reports for management.

Microsoft Excel Assessment (Required)

As part of the hiring process, candidates must complete an advanced Microsoft Excel skills assessment. This will evaluate your ability to:

• - Create and format professional spreadsheets.
• - Use formulas and functions like SUM, IF, COUNTIF, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and INDEX/MATCH.
• - Sort, filter, and validate data.
• - Create and modify Pivot Tables.
• - Analyze inventory and shipping data with speed and accuracy.
