Job summary

Green Electronic Solutions is seeking a Senior Forklift Operator to lead daily material movement in our Illinois recycling facility. You’ll operate sit-down forklifts, inspect shipments, and mentor junior operators to uphold safety and efficiency.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to OSHA standards, and hands-on training for others, with a focus on reliability, safety, and meeting daily production goals.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of forklift operating experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, recycling, or logistics environment.
• Valid forklift certification or the ability to obtain/renew certification upon hire.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and warehouse best practices.
• Experience handling heavy, oversized, and fragile materials.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity.
• Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating sit-down forklifts to load, unload, transport, stack, and stage materials.
• Receiving inbound shipments, inspecting materials for accuracy and damage, and organizing inventory in designated storage areas.
• Preparing and securely loading outbound shipments for transportation.
• Handling pallets, electronic equipment, recyclable materials, and oversized loads efficiently and safely.
• Conducting daily pre-shift forklift inspections and reporting maintenance needs or safety concerns.
• Assisting with inventory counts, cycle counts, and overall warehouse organization.
• Maintaining clean and safe work areas while following company housekeeping standards.
• Collaborating with warehouse supervisors and production teams to meet daily goals.
• Mentoring and training new forklift operators on safe equipment operation and warehouse procedures.
• Supporting general warehouse functions, including staging materials and assisting other departments as needed.

What You’ll Do as a Senior Forklift Operator

As a Senior Forklift Operator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and safe movement of materials throughout our recycling facility. Your responsibilities will include:

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a skilled forklift operator with strong leadership abilities and a commitment to safety and operational excellence. Here’s what you’ll need to succeed:

Required Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of forklift operating experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, recycling, or logistics environment.
• Valid forklift certification or the ability to obtain/renew certification upon hire.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and warehouse best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Mechanical knowledge of forklift operation and basic troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with multiple types of forklifts and material handling equipment.
• Basic knowledge of inventory management systems and barcode scanning.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Previous experience training or mentoring forklift operators or warehouse employees.
