Job summary

Thyssenkrupp Materials NA is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to accurately enter materials and goods received into inventory. The role focuses on organized documentation of transactions and coordination of shipping, damaged goods, and returns.

The position serves as the primary point of contact for inquiries about shipments, orders, and inventory, while performing related administrative duties on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.

Qualifications

• Basic math and reading skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Interpersonal skills to communicate with plant manager, sales staff, and plant personnel
• Ability to understand equipment and tolerances from past experience and successful past performance
• Warehouse experience with forklift, packing and measuring
• Safety mindset

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of items shipped and received
• Oversee safe and reliable packaging of all outgoing shipments
• Process items for shipment according to established guidelines and procedures
• Review shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
• Review all international shipment documentation to ensure compliance with applicable standards
• Maintain timely, effective, and professional communications with all internal and external customers and suppliers
• Responsible for effective record keeping, filing and other administrative duties as required
• Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor
• Other duties assigned by the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor
• This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery

Job Summary

Reporting to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate entry of materials and goods received into inventory. The ideal person will be informed and organized in documentation of transactions and thrive as a materials coordinator (Shipping, damaged goods, returns). The primary point of contact for all inquiries pertaining to shipments, orders and inventory.

• Knowledge of metals handling regarding proper staging, processing, packaging, and shipping
• First aid and CPR training
• Exposure to SAP, safety programs, ISO standards, and lean practices
