Job summary

thyssenkrupp Materials Services is seeking a Warehouse/ forklift operator to manage movement of materials on the warehouse floor. You will move raw materials, finished products, and equipment using a forklift, cranes, and hand trucks, following safety standards and supervisor directions.

The role requires loading/unloading, order picking, cycle counts, and adherence to health and safety policies. A high school diploma and forklift experience are preferred, with emphasis on accuracy and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. for 100 feet.
  • Previous forklift experience preferred.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Safety-minded and able to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately remove and stock product according to inventory plan.
  • Select product to fill customer orders and pack accordingly.
  • Load and unload trucks and verify correct items.
  • Pick, process and pack orders; may cut orders with Kaltenbach saw.
  • Complete cycle counts and identify defective material.
  • Complete paperwork per work instructions and maintain cleanliness.
  • Inspect forklift at shift start and report issues.
  • Support health, safety, ISO and 6S initiatives.

Your responsibilities
Job Summary

Responsible for movement of raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the facility using a forklift truck. May also utilize cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and other moving equipment to meet job requirements. Performs work under direct supervision. Handles basic issues and problems.

Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
  • Accurately removes and stocks product, customer's product, and various supplies according to inventory plan.
  • Accurately selects product to fill customer orders and package them properly.
  • Loads and unload trucks and verify that correct items are loaded and unloaded.
  • Picking, processing and packing orders, also may be required to cut orders on Kaltenbach saw.
  • Completes cycle Counts.
  • Identifies, holds and segregates defective material.
  • Completes paperwork per work instructions, when required.
  • Performs general clean up.
  • Inspects forklift at the beginning of every shift; report issues to immediate supervisor or other designated personnel.
  • Participates, support and comply with all health, safety, ISO and 6S Initiatives and requirements.
  • Assists in any other duties to support the operation, as requested by supervisor or team lead.
  • This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery.

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Ability to read and write English (in Quebec, must read and write French)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. for 100 feet
  • Ability to perform basic math skills
  • Previous forklift experience
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and grasping motions
  • Safety Mindset
Preferred Requirements
  • Use of handheld measuring tools
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge, such as with database programs and Microsoft Office programs.
