Job summary

SteelSummit Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Shipping Operator to ensure efficient flow of materials within the shipping/receiving department. You will ship, inspect, and stage materials, using cranes, forklifts, RF scanners, and Stelplan for inventory management.

Responsibilities include safe operation of equipment, accurate receiving documentation, and reporting damages to the Quality department to maintain production continuity.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead cranes to pull and stage materials.
• Unload coils from trucks and rail cars safely.
• Transport materials with transfer buggies and forklifts.
• Interpret processing orders for correct material selection.
• Use RF scanners for location management.
• Report damaged materials via reject reports to Quality.
• Repair damaged materials to maintain efficiency.
• Read mill receiving paperwork for processing.
• Complete Receiving Inspection Reports for coils.
• Record machine receptions into Stelplan for inventory.
• Interpret ship/receiving tags and production labels.
• Inspect for non-conformities and report discrepancies.
