Job summary

Ash Grove Cement Company is seeking a Shipping Operator to coordinate truck deliveries, load customer trucks, and generate bills of lading. You will work under the Shipping Supervisor to ensure accurate daily shipping activities and safe, compliant operations at our plant.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and about 1 year of related experience, plus basic computer skills and the ability to read and follow warning labels and instructions. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, skills, abilities, and experience.
• Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Coordinate truck deliveries.
• Load customer trucks and arrange for delivery of product.
• Generate bills of lading for truck loading.
• Assist the Shipping Supervisor with day to day office activities and other special projects.
• Monitor the load out of product to customers.
• Daily reconciliation of shipping reports.
• Physically maintain and repair equipment and facilities through preventative maintenance and work with Maintenance and Electrical personnel.
• Perform minor repairs to load out equipment to ensure proper loading.
• Ensure the terminal complies with safety and environmental standards.
• Maintain appearance of facility including cleanliness, landscaping and janitorial duties.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Reports to: Shipping Supervisor

Pay: $21.00/hr

What you'll be contributing:

• Perform duties to ensure proper appearance of facility, including, general cleanliness, landscaping and janitorial duties
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor .

To succeed in this position, you will need:

• High school graduation or equivalent is required
• 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, skills, abilities, and experience.
• Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. Willingness to learn, training will be provided
• Basic computer knowledge
