Job summary

Ash Grove Cement Company is seeking a Shipping Operator in Branford, CT to support plant logistics and truck operations. You will coordinate deliveries, load customer trucks, and generate bills of lading while ensuring safety and efficiency.

The role reports to the Shipping Supervisor and requires a high school diploma and basic computer skills. Comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within the CRH family are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Coordinating truck deliveries.
• Load customer trucks and arrange for delivery of product.
• Generate bills of lading for truck loading.
• Assist the Shipping Supervisor with day to day office activities and other special projects.
• Monitor the load out of product to customers.
• Daily reconciliation of shipping reports.
• Physically maintain and repair equipment and facilities through preventative maintenance and work with Maintenance and Electrical personnel.
• Perform minor repairs to load out equipment to ensure proper loading.
• Practice and observe that the terminal is in compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Perform duties to ensure proper appearance of facility, including cleaning, landscaping and janitorial duties.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Pay: $21.00/hr

What you'll be contributing:

To succeed in this position, you will need:

• High school graduation or equivalent is required
• 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, skills, abilities, and experience.
• Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. Willingness to learn, training will be provided
• Basic computer knowledge

What to expect in a cement environment:

Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
