Job summary

Ash Grove Cement Company is seeking a Terminal Operator I to perform loading and unloading, site maintenance, and safety-focused tasks on site. You will engage with customers to ensure solid on-site experiences and contribute to 5S and continuous improvement programs.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.
• Proficient in customer service skills.
• Receive basic site safety training including First Aid and all applicable LSR Training.

Responsibilities

• Load trucks and/ or rail cars as per the daily schedule utilizing the on‑site systems.
• Unload product as per the daily schedule utilizing the on‑site systems.
• Operate on site mobile equipment and receive training.
• Handle inquiries and orders for customers and sales personnel.
• Maintain shipping logs, prepares bills of lading, and calculates split-load tonnages based on a customer’s instructions.
• Work with company apps for site emails, safety incident reporting, completing training and other programs.
• Maintain supply point and 5S standards.
• Assist with basic maintenance of equipment on site.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Summary:

The Terminal Operator I will complete daily loading, unloading, administration and safety requirements on site. They will also actively participate in site maintenance and upkeep to drive the 5s and “make itbetter” programs. The Terminal Operator I will actively engage with customers to ensure that we are providing a solid customer experience on site.

What you’ll be contributing:

Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.

Gains full understanding and demonstrate adherence to the safety program

Loads trucks and/ or rail cars as per the daily schedule utilizing the on‑site systems

To succeed in this position, you will need:

Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.

High school graduation or equivalent is required

Willingness to learn, training will be provided

Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred

Proficient in customer service skills

Receive basic site safety training including First Aid and all applicable LSR Training
