Job summary

Dane Manufacturing in Waunakee, WI seeks a Shipping Supervisor to lead our shipping and logistics operations, ensuring safe, accurate, on-time, and cost-effective deliveries. You will oversee daily shipping activities with company trucks and external carriers, coordinating with Production, Planning, Customer Service, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Sales.

Responsibilities include optimizing fleet use, preparing shipping docs, managing freight costs, and ensuring compliance with DOT and safety rules.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in shipping, logistics, transportation, warehouse, or manufacturing operations.
• Previous supervisory or team-lead experience.
• Experience coordinating LTL and/or FTL shipments and freight documentation.
• Knowledge of DOT requirements and commercial vehicle operations.
• Forklift certification/training.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with ERP/WMS or transportation systems.
• Strong emphasis on workplace safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily shipping activities for finished products and materials.
• Develop and execute daily shipping schedules based on production and customer needs.
• Coordinate shipments using company-owned trucks and outside carriers.
• Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and readiness for shipment.
• Verify shipment quantities, part numbers, customer information, and documentation.
• Maintain Bills of Lading, packing lists, and delivery documents.
• Coordinate with Production and Planning to move orders on time.
• Monitor shipping priorities and adapt to changes in schedules.
• Keep shipping areas organized, safe, and efficient.
• Establish KPIs and drive continuous improvement in the department.
• Cross-train staff for coverage during absences or peak periods.
