Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to lead warehousing, inventory control, and the shipping of finished goods on the assigned shift. Direct duties include outbound/inbound shipments, supervisor oversight, and safety compliance in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a high school diploma and 4+ years in a shipping department, with preferred college or manufacturing training and prior supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 4+ years’ experience in a shipping department.
• Ability to work flexible hours when needed.
• Some college or manufacturing training preferred.
• Experience in a corrugated manufacturing environment.
• Supervisory experience with training, teambuilding, performance development.

Responsibilities

• Direct outbound shipments and plan loading schedules, ensuring timely shipments.
• Direct inbound shipments with inspection, unloading and storage of materials.
• Schedule work, oversee employees, approve time records, implement policy.
• Engage in employee development, make recommendations on hires and promotions.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure health and safety procedures.
• Train employees on equipment, protocols, production standards, safety and waste control.
• Supervise warehouse operations and equipment inspections.
• Analyze shipping department performance and drive improvements.
• Investigate customer complaints concerning shipping or transit damage.
• Participate in production meetings and provide updates.
• Manage on-hand inventory and month end inventory.
