Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to coordinate and oversee shipping activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in inbound and outbound materials. You will manage load planning, routing, and documentation while supervising a team of workers in a fast-paced corrugated packaging environment.

Responsibilities include preparing bills of lading, maintaining maintenance records, and mentoring staff in safety and operational best practices.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and forklift certification.
• Needs at least 1 year shipping experience and 4 years in corrugated box industry (training available).
• College or related technical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates activities of workers verifying and keeping records on shipments and preparing items for shipment.
• Oversees incoming/outgoing shipping to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
• Determines space requirements and position of shipment in trucks.
• Determines routing and legal load limits of trucks according to schedules and weight limits.
• Inspects loading operations for compliance and seals truck doors.
• Maintains vehicle maintenance report.
• Directs movement of shipments from shipping/receiving to storage.
• Posts weight and shipping charges.
• Prepares bills of lading.
• May assist workers in shipping/receiving activities.
