Job summary

SPX Technologies is seeking a material handler to support safe movement, storage, and preparation of goods. You will load/unload trucks, process inventory, and package products to ensure on-time shipments to customers.

Core responsibilities include forklift operation, staying compliant with OSHA safety standards, maintaining accurate logs, and collaborating with team leads to resolve issues as they arise. A high school diploma and forklift certification are preferred.

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse t eam of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a material handler, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and preparation of goods. Position will load/unload trucks, process inventory, and package products to ensure supply chain operations run smoothly and orders reach their destinations accurately.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities to SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

Safety

  • Keep shipping docks, staging areas, and warehouses clean and compliant with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load outbound freight and unload inbound raw materials.
  • Follow all safety rules and adhere to core value of business.
  • Report repairs and/or issues to team lead or supervisor.

Material Management

  • Accurately pull, pack, and stage orders for domestic and international shipments according to pick sheets or work orders.
  • Move materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, and storage areas.
  • Collect and properly dispose scrap, cardboard, and strapping.
  • Prepare finished goods for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
  • Complete transport of finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids).
  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs.

Inventory Control

  • Track inventory levels, verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders, and assist with physical counts and cycle counting.
  • Inspect items for damage, label products correctly, and maintain accurate logs and records, often using an ERP or warehouse management software.
  • Review orders for quality and accuracy, cross-check accompanying documents.
  • Maintains inventory by identifying, labelling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.
  • Seek help when unsure on resolution, working closely with team lead/supervisor and shipping team.
  • Follow processes for expedite shipments affecting the production schedule.

Required Experience

  • 1–2 years of warehouse, logistics, or material handling experience.
  • 1 year experience certified Fork truck (or the ability to obtain one)

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Education & Certifications

  • High school diploma, or equivalent
