Job summary

Quikrete Materials is seeking a Shipping Manager for its Cement Division to lead daily packing and shipping operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable performance across all shifts. You will partner with Operations, Maintenance and Quality to enhance safety, productivity, equipment reliability and cost control.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting issues, mentoring Shipping staff, managing budgets, and driving process improvements to reduce downtime and improve overall plant

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a manufacturing, industrial, shipping, or distribution environment.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to understand operating, quality, and mechanical aspects of industrial equipment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train, and develop employees.
• Experience managing budgets and controlling operating costs.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• High School diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily Packing & Shipping operations across all shifts, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable performance.
• Troubleshoot operating, quality, and mechanical issues and identify equipment, SOP, and training improvements.
• Develop and communicate clear daily operating instructions and maintain accurate activity logs.
• Manage the department budget, including overtime, supplies, and service costs.
• Lead the training, development, and performance of Shipping personnel to optimize manpower utilization.
• Partner with Maintenance and Operations to identify equipment issues, prioritize repairs, and improve reliability.
• Develop and recommend process improvements, equipment upgrades, and investment plans to improve performance and reduce downtime.
• Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity and control costs.
• Promote compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Maintain effective communication between shifts and departments to ensure continuity of operations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and other plant projects as needed.
