Job summary

Movement Search & Delivery is seeking a Shipping and Warehouse Manager to lead our warehouse operations, ensuring accurate inbound and outbound logistics while maintaining safety and quality standards. The role requires strong leadership across shifts and a focus on continuous improvement.

You will drive inventory accuracy, on-time shipments, and cross-functional collaboration with business partners to align with objectives and budget targets.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of operations management, distribution, warehousing, or supervisory experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee inbound receipt and put-away accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage outbound shipments processing and accuracy.
  • Direct cross-shift operations to meet daily objectives.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.
  • Provide leadership and development for Supervisors and associates while ensuring safety and quality.

POSITION TITLE: Shipping and Warehouse Manager, Equipment

Overall Job Summary

The Shipping and Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing personnel and operations within the assigned area. This position provides leadership, development, and engagement to associates while driving safe, efficient, and sustainable operational results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely and accurate receipt and put-away of all inbound materials.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all outbound shipments.
  • Direct the functions and personnel across all shifts and assigned areas to achieve daily operational objectives.
  • Serve as a key contributor to the business unit by developing, implementing, and sustaining operational best practices.
  • Provide visible leadership and serve as a primary resource for Supervisors and associates, fostering a motivated, positive, and productive workforce while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Lead Supervisors and associates in continuous improvement initiatives through root-cause analysis and the development of effective countermeasures to improve key performance indicators.
  • Utilize consistent and effective communication and motivational techniques when supervising, mentoring, and administering corrective action.
  • Develop and implement strategies aligned with business objectives by prioritizing action items, establishing timelines, and allocating appropriate resources.
  • Assist with the selection and hiring of team members.
  • Drive workflow to ensure operational objectives are achieved efficiently.
  • Partner with business partners and leadership to implement and administer policies and procedures while maintaining compliance, consistency, and appropriate corrective action.
  • Establish and maintain inventory practices that support 99.5% or greater inventory accuracy.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly reviews of inventory transactions to ensure discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
  • Establish and maintain 95% or greater on-time customer shipment performance, based on available inventory.
  • Ensure associates are properly trained to perform their responsibilities and achieve desired operational results.
  • Audit time and attendance records to ensure Supervisors are following organizational standards and addressing violations appropriately and promptly.
  • Partner with Supervisors and team members to develop effective daily pre-shift communications.
  • Participate in or lead cross-functional teams focused on process improvement, best practices, and leadership development.
  • Lead large-scale process improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Collaborate with leadership to achieve budget, P&L, and revenue objectives.
  • Apply functional knowledge of logistics processes and methods, including material flow, cost efficiency, material handling equipment (MHE), safety, and quality.
  • Utilize analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and labor management systems.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to adjust priorities based on changing business needs.
  • Work additional hours and/or days as needed, particularly during high-volume periods or critical production/shipping days, to ensure departmental objectives are met.
  • Coordinate logistics activities and collaborate with suppliers, transportation providers, and other stakeholders.
Required Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of operations management, distribution, warehousing, or supervisory experience preferred.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Working Conditions
  • Work requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, sitting, and movement between locations throughout the shift.
  • Work is performed in a warehouse environment that may include temperature extremes, movement of mobile and fixed equipment, potential exposure to hazardous materials, dust, and other conditions commonly associated with warehouse operations.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours and/or days may be required during periods of high volume or critical operational needs.
