Job summary

Qualifications

• Follow safety procedures and practices.
• Verify quantity and quality of orders before packaging and shipping.
• Record shipment information (weight, tracking, special notations).
• Interpret data sheets and shipping requirements.
• Learn to operate FedEx and UPS shipping systems.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Be organized and able to work independently or in a team.
• Willingness to be trained on electric pallet jack and/or forklift.
• Ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure.
• Read and understand job traveler and clarify customer orders.

Responsibilities

• Identify each day’s shipments and ensure orders are correctly assembled, packaged, protected and labeled.
• Meet daily shipping schedules and maintain inventory control/records.
• Notify Shipping Supervisor of problems and discrepancies.
• Record shipment information (weight, tracking, special notations).
• Determine best packaging options based on contents, shipping method, and size.
• Build a custom crate when required or pick up a crate at another location.
• Secure contents to prevent damage/breakage and affix labels.
• Learn to operate FedEx and UPS shipping systems.
• Assist with year-end and general inventory procedures as needed.
