Job summary

Farwest Steel Corporation is hiring a Shipping Clerk for our Vancouver, WA area operations. The role focuses on shipping of materials, scheduling trucks, coordinating carrier schedules and preparing bills of lading. You will interact with Warehouse, Sales and Operations teams in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

The position is full time, onsite with a swing shift from 2:00pm to 10:30pm. Wage ranges are $21.00 to $25.00 per hour, DOE, with benefits including medical, dental, vision and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Reliable, on time and ready to work daily.
• Must have eye for detail and ability to multi-task.
• Minimum 2 years in shipping department or related experience.
• Proficient with personal computers, word processing, spreadsheets, database and e-mail.

Responsibilities

• Schedules company trucks.
• Coordinates inbound carrier schedules.
• Communicates truck arrival and order preparation with Warehouse personnel.
• Prepares bill of ladings and handles driver dispatch.
• Communicates schedule and order issues to Sales.
• Data entry for shipments including order closing and dispatch.
• Prepares outbound material loads.
• Coordinates with Operations to optimize shipping and inter-department efficiencies.
• Assists in training staff and participates in process improvement projects.
