Job summary

Pipp Mobile Storage Systems Inc in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping & Logistics Assistant to support transportation, shipping operations, and customer routing. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of warehousing/shipping experience.
• Experience with MS Outlook and MS Teams.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or in a team.
• Experience with ERP systems and customer shipping portals preferred.
• Previous experience in manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.
• Familiarity with parcel, LTL, and truckload shipping processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate customer-specific routing requirements through portals and email.
• Create and maintain skid sheets detailing pallet contents, dimensions, weights, and shipments.
• Process parcel shipments, create shipping labels, and coordinate deliveries with carriers.
• Track shipment volumes and truckload activity, maintaining records and reports.
• Obtain and manage proof of delivery documentation for customers and stakeholders.
• Assist with shipment scheduling, documentation, and communications with providers.
• Provide back-up support during absences and peak periods.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping & Logistics Assistant to support our transportation and shipping operations. This role is responsible for coordinating customer routing requirements, processing parcel shipments, maintaining shipment documentation, and providing day-to-day support to ensure products are delivered accurately and on time. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, has strong organizational skills, and is committed to delivering excellent customer service.

Key Position Responsibilities:

• Coordinating customer-specific routing requirements through customer portals and email communications
• Creating and maintaining skid sheets detailing pallet contents, dimensions, weights, and shipment configurations.
• Processing parcel shipments, creating shipping labels, and coordinating package deliveries with carriers.
• Tracking shipment volumes and truckload activity while maintaining accurate records and reports.
• Obtaining and managing proof of delivery documentation for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Assisting with shipment scheduling, shipping documentation, and communication with transportation providers.
• Providing back support for shipping operations during absences and periods of increased workload.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent and minimum of 1 year experience working in a warehouse, shipping, logistics, transportation, or related environment.
• Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office applications, specifically MS Outlook and Teams.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently as well as with a team.
• Experience with ERP systems and transportation or customer shipping portals preferred.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Familiarity with parcel, LTL, and truckload shipping processes preferred.
