Job summary

Havertys Furniture in Lakeland, FL is seeking a hands-on Secondary Shipping Lead to prepare furniture for delivery, inspect for defects, and coordinate daily tasks with the shipping team. Onsite training begins on day one to learn Havertys standards for handling quality home goods and to uphold superior customer service.

This role requires heavy lifting, adherence to safety programs, and the ability to document processes in MDC.

Qualifications

Heavy lifting up to 150 lbs is required.
Must comply with Havertys safety requirements.
Good communication skills.
Ability to perform heavy lifting throughout shift.
Ability to pass Criminal Background check, Lifting Assessment, and Drug Test.
Previous warehouse supervisor or lead experience a plus.
Must complete and understand all company-sponsored safety programs.

Responsibilities

Prepare furniture for delivery and review the To Do List by route to ensure the product meets customer expectations before it's loaded in the chute.
Uncarton/unwrap furniture and inspect for defects and damage; place prepared merchandise in the chutes and organize delivery order.
Work with the shipping supervisor to direct the team to meet productivity standards.
Use MDC to review the team’s delivery exceptions and direct workflow.
Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure chute inventory accuracy.
