Job summary

River Point Farms is seeking an experienced Shipping Lead to oversee daily shipping operations and provide day-to-day leadership for the Shipping team. This role prioritizes workflow, coordinates departmental activities, trains team members, monitors operational performance, and serves as the primary operational resource for shipping-related issues.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years in shipping, logistics, warehouse ops, or related field.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
• Advanced knowledge of ERP systems and MS Office, especially Excel.
• Strong ability to train, mentor, and lead others.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prioritize daily shipping activities to ensure orders are processed, loaded, and shipped accurately and on time.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, training, mentoring, and work direction to Shipping Coordinators and new team members.
• Monitor team workload, productivity, quality, and adherence to procedures and compliance.
• Coordinate carrier scheduling and transportation activities with third-party logistics providers.
• Resolve complex shipping, inventory, documentation, transportation, and customer service issues, escalating as needed.
• Oversee shipping transactions, inventory activities, shipment tracking, and reporting through ERP systems.
• Review shipping documentation and inventory records for accuracy and compliance.
• Lead inventory control activities including cycle counts, reconciliations, and corrective actions.
• Partner with Sales, Production, Customer Service, Warehouse, and management to support objectives.
• Assist with customer claims, quality investigations, and corrective actions.
• Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Promote compliance with food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards.
