Job summary

River Point Farms is seeking an experienced Shipping Lead to oversee daily shipping operations for our onion processing team. This role provides day-to-day leadership for the Shipping department, prioritizes workflow, coordinates activities, and trains team members to ensure timely, accurate shipments.

The Shipping Lead drives inventory accuracy, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement, partnering with Sales, Production, and Customer Service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of shipping/logistics or related experience.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
• Advanced knowledge of ERP systems and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prioritize daily shipping activities to ensure orders ship on time.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and direction to Shipping Coordinators.
• Monitor workload, productivity, and adherence to procedures.
• Coordinate carrier scheduling with third-party logistics providers.
• Oversee shipping transactions, inventory, and reporting in ERP.
• Lead cycle counts and inventory discrepancy investigations.
• Collaborate with Sales, Production, Customer Service and management to support objectives.
• Assist with customer claims and quality investigations.
• Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality and safety standards.
