Job summary

Emerald Isle Foods LLC in Richmond, VA is seeking a Shipping Lead to oversee outbound shipping in a high-volume cross-dock warehouse. You will ensure orders are sorted, staged and shipped on schedule, while prioritizing safety, efficiency, and team productivity.

You will direct order selectors and dock staff, use the Warehouse Management System to track progress, and coordinate with various departments to ensure timely movement of orders and accurate intercompany transfers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 3–5 years shipping/warehousing experience with at least 2 years in supervision.
• Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) or similar tracking tools.
• Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, sanitation, USDA/FDA guidelines and food safety protocols.
• Proficient in operating stand-up and reach forklifts, and electric pallet jacks.
• Flexibility to adjust to shifting work priorities and assignments.

Responsibilities

• Motivates and directs order selectors, loaders, and sorters.
• Organize and oversee workflow for shift employees.
• Assign and monitor tasks using computers and scanners.
• Promote and enforce safe work practices.
• Meet productivity and output standards for the shift.
• Oversee accurate handling of intercompany transfers.
• Review and assess the performance of subordinates.
