Job summary

Farmer Focus is seeking a Shipping Lead to support the Shipping Supervisor in maintaining productive, compliant operations at the Acorn Facility. This on-site role focuses on leading team members, ensuring accuracy in production paperwork, and upholding food safety standards to meet customer specifications.

• Assist the Supervisor with production paperwork as needed.
• Respond to USDA inspectors and their concerns in a timely and correct manner.
• Help train new team members and monitor their performance.
• Perform production checks to ensure the department is performing to standards.
• Assist other supervisors and managers with issues in other departments in the plant.
• Maintain compliance with food safety programs, safety expectations, and Farmer Focus policies.
• Perform other job duties as needed.

Compensation: $20.50/hr.

Additional Compensation: Shift Differential +$1.50/hr.

Role Overview / Purpose and Scope

The Shipping Lead is primarily responsible for supporting the Shipping Supervisor in ensuring department procedures are followed while achieving the highest level of productivity in the most cost-efficient manner possible and maintaining customer specifications. This role helps direct and lead team members, supports compliance with food safety programs and Farmer Focus policies, and assists with team member performance, development, safety, and daily work schedules.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel

This role is performed on-site in a production and shipping environment. The position requires working on the plant floor, following all safety, food safety, and PPE requirements, and supporting production flow in a fast-paced setting. Team members must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, work in varying temperatures and noise levels, and occasionally lift up to 70 pounds. Schedule flexibility may be required based on production and shipping needs.
