Job summary

RK Supply in Hobbs, NM is seeking a Shipping Lead to oversee daily outbound shipping, coordinate with receiving, inventory, transportation, and customer service to drive accurate and timely deliveries. This role leads shipping associates, manages workload, and enforces safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• 3–5 years in distribution/warehouse with 1–2 years in supervision.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily outbound shipping operations including picking, packing, staging and loading.
• Lead, train, schedule, and evaluate shipping team members for productivity and accuracy.
• Ensure orders ship accurately and on time per requirements.
• Coordinate shipping schedules with transport providers and internal teams.
• Monitor workload to meet daily volume and service levels.
• Enforce safety policies and promote a safety culture.
• Maintain shipping documentation, bills of lading, and ERP/WMS entries.
• Identify and resolve shipping discrepancies and delivery issues.
• Support inventory accuracy through proper handling and shipment confirmation.
• Participate in continuous improvement to reduce costs and improve service.
• Assist with performance metrics, reporting, and KPIs.

Position Summary

The Shipping Lead is responsible for overseeing all outbound shipping operations to ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective delivery of products to RK Supply customers and internal locations. This role leads shipping associates, coordinates daily workload, enforces safety and quality standards, and partners closely with receiving, inventory, transportation, and customer service teams to support overall distribution center performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily outbound shipping operations, including order picking, packing, staging, and loading.
• Lead, train, schedule, and evaluate shipping team members to ensure productivity, accuracy, and adherence to company standards.
• Ensure all customer orders are shipped accurately, on time, and in compliance with company, customer, and carrier requirements.
• Coordinate shipping schedules with transportation providers and internal departments.
• Monitor workflow and labor allocation to meet daily volume and service-level expectations.
• Enforce all safety policies, OSHA standards, and company procedures; promote a strong safety culture.
• Maintain accurate shipping documentation, bills of lading, and system transactions within the ERP/WMS.
• Identify and resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, shortages, and delivery issues.
• Support inventory accuracy through proper handling, staging, and shipment confirmation.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service.
• Assist with performance metrics, reporting, and departmental KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable state and federal employment laws.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• 3–5 years of distribution center or warehouse experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong understanding of shipping processes, freight handling, and carrier coordination.
• Experience working with ERP or warehouse management systems.
• Proven ability to lead teams, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
