Description
As the Shipping Lead, you will take ownership of the shipping department's daily operations, ensuring that all outbound shipments are accurate, timely, and compliant with internal quality standards and customer requirements. In this leadership role, you will guide and support shipping personnel, drive process improvements, and serve as the key point of contact between the shipping team and other departments. Your expertise in logistics, attention to detail, and ability to manage priorities will directly contribute to the efficiency and reliability of our supply chain.
- Lead and coordinate daily shipping activities to meet production and customer delivery schedules
- Oversee the preparation of outgoing packages, ensuring proper selection of materials and secure packing to prevent damage
- Verify order accuracy, conduct final quality checks, and ensure all items meet shipping and packaging standard
- Generate and review shipping labels and documentation; maintain accuracy in logs, tracking numbers, and manifests
- Utilize shipping software (UPS, FedEx, etc.) to schedule pickups, print labels, and monitor shipment status
- Communicate with carriers and logistics partners to schedule timely pickups and resolve shipping issues
- Organize and maintain the shipping area for safe, efficient workflow and compliance with 6S practices
- Train, mentor, and support shipping team members in processes, safety, and quality standards
- Collaborate with internal departments (warehouse, production, customer service) to coordinate fulfillment and resolve shipping-related concerns
- Monitor shipping supplies and coordinate with procurement to ensure continuous availability

Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years of shipping and logistics experience, including leadership or team lead responsibilities
- Proficiency with shipping platforms (UPS, FedEx, etc.) and inventory systems
- Physical ability to lift, bend, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment
