Starting Pay: $24.60 + $2.00 for shift dif
Hours: M-F 8:00 pm- 6:30 am (Possible Saturday overtime)
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Shipping Lead is responsible for coordinating and organizing the workflow through the warehouse.The duties of the Shipping Lead will dictate the flow of finished units through the warehouse and directly effect on-time shipment and customer service objectives. Successful completion of time sensitive tasks. Support local and corporate objectives of 100% on-time completion and maximization of profits.
PELLA CORPORATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Pass pre-work vision screen
- Pass post offer screens
ENVIRONMENT:
- Noise level requires hearing protection in designated areas
- Seasonal high/low temperatures and humidity
- Ability to work in high stress and fast paced conditions
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Release work to team members to support on-time order shipment and ensure uninterrupted workflow.
- Monitor trailer availability to identify shortages before they affect load times and customer delivery.
- Schedule outbound LTL shipments. Requires communication to LTL carriers, maintaining tracking numbers, and communication to Pella load planning.
- Schedule, label, and package UPS, air, and accessory shipments to ensure on time delivery.
- Identify issues that will impair on-time shipments for LTL and air shipments and work with coordinators and manager to resolve.
- Position requires decision making capabilities and interpretation of customer orders and shipping schedules.
- Operate PIV as needed.
- Locate and load/unload units as required.
- Prepare paperwork for all shipments and notify carriers when complete.File shipping paperwork.
- Able to work with and around moving equipment.
- Flexibility of work hours including mandatory overtime when business needs require.
- Ability to move to different lines and responsibilities.
- Ability to communicate in a concise, polite and respectful manner with team members.
- Regular, dependable attendance consistent with attendance guidelines is required.
- Comply with safety, quality and production requirements and procedures.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Will work with a variety of team members and departments including Quality, Coordinators, Department Managers, Shipping, I.T., etc.
- Other duties may be assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Manufacturing experience is preferred
- Job specific experience is preferred
SKILLS AND TALENTS:
- Ability to work with internal team members and external vendors.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Adaptability and creativity.
- Above average P.C. skills and knowledge of Oracle and DCS shipping system.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Decision making/problem solving in a manufacturing environment with minimal supervision.
- Requires communication skills and the cognitive ability to learn the safety, quality, and productivity standards.

- Lift up to 100 lbs. at waist level and up to 70 lbs. at shoulder level up to an occasional basis when moving products
- Push or pull with up to 100 lbs. of force up to an occasional basis when moving products
- Generate up to 90 lbs. of grip strength up to an occasional basis with each hand while handling products
- Generate up to 15 lbs. of pinch strength up to an occasional basis with each hand while handling products
- Display average coordination with both hands up to a continuous basis while performing job tasks
- Perform elevated work up to an occasional basis when handling products
- Stoop, kneel or squat up to an occasional basis when handling products
- Reach forward and to the side up to a frequent basis when handling products
- Stand up to a continuous basis and walk up to a frequent basis during the course of each shift
- Able to perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per day
