Job summary

Saint-Gobain in Florida is seeking a Shipping Lead to provide high level support to Shipping Operations, ensuring accurate planning, monitoring, and scheduling to meet daily objectives. You will help track daily metrics and communicate results to the Supply Chain Manager, while upholding safety and compliance.

This role requires leadership during shifts, training teammates, reviewing the daily shipping plan with supervisors and production, escalating roadblocks, maintaining documentation and MRP

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance to Shipping Operations and scheduling.
• Review daily shipping plan report (DSR) with Supervisor, Planning, Production, and Customer Service to prioritize activities.
• Escalate shipping roadblocks to management to achieve daily deliverables.
• Ensure compliance and accuracy in shipping process flow, documentation, and MRP transactions.
• Suggest work instruction corrections and participate in continuous improvement activities, including presenting One Point Lessons.
• Perform housekeeping tasks to keep work areas clean and safe.

Job description

The Shipping Lead is responsible for providing high level support and guidance to Shipping Operations; ensuring accurate planning, monitoring, and scheduling of the shipping team to achieve daily objectives. Ensures that daily metrics are properly tracked and communicated to the Supply Chain Manager.

Strict adherence to Corporate and/or local policies is required. An employee in this position must focus on customers' expectations and strive for continuous process improvement. Demonstration of professionalism and leadership at all times is required.

Other Duties:

Leadership and training support during assigned shift and scheduled overtime, including providing guidance and prioritization of work.

Review daily shipping plan report ( DSR) with Supervisor, Planning, Production, and Customer Service to prioritize daily shipping activities to maximize daily performance metrics.

Escalate shipping roadblocks to management for necessary support to achieve daily deliverables.

Ensure the compliance and accuracy in shipping process flow, documentation, and MRP transactions are completed appropriately.

Suggests work instruction corrections/recommendations to help foster an environment of continuous improvement, including participating in continuous improvement activities, and generating and Present One Point Lessons.

Perform other related tasks, including but not limited to, performing housekeeping tasks required to keep work areas clean and organized.

Ensuring all safety rules and regulations are properly followed including the wearing of protective equipment when required. Report any accidents and unsafe conditions to management.

Must be available for overtime work when necessary.
