Job summary

American Crystal Sugar Company is seeking a Shipping Clerk to work with packaging and warehouse staff in executing the production plan and handling all shipping/receiving tasks. The role requires coordinating with SAP, ADC, LIMS and Expeditor, maintaining inventory accuracy, and managing rail logistics including BNSF/M&N communications.

The position emphasizes ensuring customer specifications are met, timely documentation, and collaboration across departments to optimize loading and minimize

Qualifications

• Two-year business/accounting related degree required or equivalent experience.
• Strong computer skills and ability to perform business math conversions.
• Experience in shipping, logistics, warehousing and inventory management preferred.
• Understanding of QA/QC, SQF, GMP HACCP and regulatory directives.
• Ability to multi-task under time pressures and communicate clearly with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shipments based on sales plans and factory loading operations.
• Process SAP, ADC, and other system transactions and required documentation.
• Issue finished goods to production orders and manage packaging materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory by product, pallets and packaging materials.
• Prepare daily rail activity reports and outbound/inbound railcar reports.
• Monitor and minimize demurrage charges from rail providers.
• Ensure shipments meet customer specifications and resolve complaints.
• Assist with daily loading paperwork and coordination with warehouse staff.
