Job summary

VT Industries, Inc. is seeking a warehouse associate to support shipping operations. You will band, stage, and secure products, operate forklifts with certification, and assist with loading trucks while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include accurate packing, space optimization, and daily 5S compliance, with a Monday–Friday 6:00am–4:30pm schedule and potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift/move products up to 50 lbs.
  • Reading and understanding packaging, shipping docs, and safety guidelines.
  • Work independently or as part of a team.
  • 1–3 years of warehouse/forklift experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and forklift or heavy machinery certification.

Responsibilities

  • Band items together and secure products to prevent shifting during transport.
  • Operate forklifts safely with valid certification and safety protocols.
  • Stage skids according to daily load plan for accurate loading.
  • Stack and consolidate skids to optimize space and orders.
  • Audit boxes for accuracy before shipment.
  • Ensure HC skids are wrapped to protect products in transit.
  • Attach packing slips on all orders for accurate fulfillment.
  • Assist loaders with safe, timely truck loading.
  • Support top sorters and maintain smooth department workflow.
  • Cut 2x2 lumber for build-up materials in shipping.
  • Maintain a clean, organized 5S-compliant work area.
  • Follow safety procedures and operate forklift when certified.
  • Provide backup to teammates to maintain flow.
  • Attend daily production meetings to track priorities and changes.
  • Work 6:00am–4:30pm, five days/week, with occasional overtime.
  • Wear PPE such as safety glasses and hearing protection.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Band double-stacked items together and ensure all products are secured properly to prevent shifting or damage during transport.
  • Safely operate forklifts to move and stage product, maintaining a valid forklift certification and following all applicable safety protocols at all times.
  • Stage skids in the correct sequence according to the daily load plan so that trucks can be loaded accurately, efficiently, and in the proper order.
  • Stack out skids and consolidate tops to keep product organized, minimize wasted space, and ensure orders are ready for shipment.
  • Audit accessory boxes to verify that contents are accurate and complete before orders are released for shipment.
  • Ensure that all HC skids are properly wrapped to protect product from damage and moisture during transit.
  • Ensure that packing slips are correctly placed on all orders prior to shipment to support accurate order fulfillment.
  • Assist loaders with loading trucks in a safe, timely, and organized manner to help maintain on-time shipping schedules.
  • Assist top sorters and support other areas within the shipping department as needed to keep overall workflow moving smoothly.
  • Cut 2x2 lumber to the required lengths for use as build-up materials in the shipping process.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Follow all established safety procedures and operate a forklift when certified to do so.
  • Keep product flow moving efficiently and provide support to teammates across the department as workload demands.
  • Participate in daily production meetings to stay informed of shipping priorities, schedule changes, and any operational concerns.
  • Maintain regular attendance and be available to work 6:00am-4:30 pm, five days per week, including occasional mandatory overtime as business needs require.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses and hearing protection, in accordance with company policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be able to lift and move products up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Ability to read and understand packaging, shipping documents, and safety guidelines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous warehouse experience
  • 1–3 years of forklift experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Forklift or heavy machinery certification
