A leading company in the food industry is seeking a Forklift Operator for a full-time position in Washington, DC. The role involves operating a forklift to manage apple bins and ensuring product quality. Candidates must be physically able to handle demanding tasks and work in various environments. Good attendance and teamwork are essential.

Starting pay: $19.00/ hour
The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift to move, dump and consume apple bins. This position is also responsible for unloading, inspecting, tagging, and preparing Crunch Pak product for receipt and ensuring all product meet the requirements and specifications for each order. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle.

• Utilize scan gun to track movement/inventory of all supplies and ingredients.

• Employees are required to work in cold, damp, wet and warm environments.
• Must be able to work in a physically demanding position – bend, kneel, twist, stoop, squat, stand, walk, climb ladders, and reach above shoulders repeatedly most of the workday.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Able to assist in the training of new employees.
• Able to cover for other positions when needed.
• Available to participate in month end or quarter end inventory to count packaging/ingredients.
• Perform daily forklift checks at the beginning of every shift.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Operate forklift in a safe and productive matter.
• Perform accurate daily finished goods inventory.
• Adhere to all Crunch Pak safety standards, guidelines and GMP rules. Reflective vests must be worn while operating forklifts outside.
• Check the accuracy of pallet tickets, description on boxes, and the accuracy of date tags vs. date of production.
• Unload, inventory, and tag all additives received on the shipping dock.
• Keep unloading zones clean and organized.
• Perform monthly Chep counts.
Qualifications:
• Able to notify leadership of concerns and deviations.
• Able to efficiently handle additional/new tasks or procedures.
• Identify and support process improvements.
• Consistently meets all company expectations.
• Able to fill in as lead when needed.
Education and/or Work History:
• 3 year forklift operation experience.
• Forklift certification (preferred).
• Valid Washington State Driver's License.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
