Job summary

Lozier Corporation in Scottsboro, AL, is hiring a DC Shipping Clerk to print and manage outbound paperwork and keep the packing-list files for inbound receiving. You’re the first contact at the DC shipping desk and will provide accessorial documents to drivers at pickup.

This role requires strong organization, basic PC skills, and clear communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams. Onsite, with a Monday–Friday schedule and optional alternate work arrangements, this position offers a

Qualifications

• Education: None required at this time.
• Up to 2 years general maintenance and/or custodial experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Effective communication skills, in person, phone or email.

Responsibilities

• Act as point of first contact at the shipping desk when calls come in, or someone checks in, at the DC.
• Provides assistance to Customers, Customer Service or other entities as requested or needed.
• Prints and maintains paperwork for each truck load and LTL trailer that is loaded by the DC; verifies export documents, hazmat paperwork, trailer number and seal numbers; prints maps for drivers.
• Supports the export coordinator in the main office and Joplin, MO, by creating and printing export documents for Canadian shipments (2nd shift).
• Performs shipment close in Catalyst on LTL small package/air and truckload shipments when complete.
• Calls LTL carriers for trailer pickup and cartage carriers/customers for dock pickups.
• Notifies shag drivers of trailer moves and tracks drivers checked in for loads.
• Logs inbound trailers and containers and maintains paperwork for receiving.
• Maintains live driver check-in log and Haz-Mat file for DOT compliance.
• Provides weekend coverage, outside of normal working hours, of shipping desk when DC is working.
• Cross training and additional projects as needed.
• Regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work and completing assignments.
• Ability to work and interact well with others.
