Alaska Marine Lines seeks a Customer Service Representative to join our Customer Service department. This role supports customers with shipping needs through multiple avenues, delivering an exceptional experience via timely communication and accurate, safety-focused service.

The position requires at least 2 years in customer service, high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work a flexible schedule in a fast-paced environment. Strong PC skills and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED is required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in customer service is required.
• Ability to meet a flexible work schedule based on the needs of the company.

Responsabilités

• Answer customer questions by phone, email, or in person regarding services, tools, and resources.
• Provide quotes to estimate shipping costs for customers.
• Provide bookings to customers to receive their item(s) for shipping.
• Research customer inquiries by coordinating with other departments or operating companies.
• Occasionally verify cargo information or obtain cargo measurements.
• Occasionally collect and scan bills of ladings and assist with billing charges.
• Collect payment over the phone.
