Job summary

Alexandria Moulding, a SBP Brand, is seeking a 2nd Shift Shipping Coordinator to coordinate shipments and support operations across domestic and international routes. The role focuses on timely and accurate delivery, carrier liaison, and shipper compliance in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Walk-in applications are welcome Mon–Fri 9am–3:00pm at the branch, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; logistics certification preferred.
• Prior experience in shipping, logistics, transportation, or related field preferred.
• Forklift experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule shipments according to orders, production schedules, and inventory.
• Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers to arrange transportation and delivery.
• Track shipments and provide status updates to stakeholders and customers.
• Prepare shipping documents including bills of lading, labels, and export paperwork; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse for picking, packing, and staging.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and coordinating delivery arrangements.
• Obtain shipping quotes and negotiate rates with carriers to manage costs.
• Identify process improvements to streamline shipping operations and boost productivity.

Alexandria Moulding an SBP Brand, is currently looking for a 2nd Shift Shipping Coordinator to join our VALUES based organization. The Shipping Coordinator plays a vital role in coordinating and facilitating the shipment of goods from the company's facilities to customers or distribution centers. This position involves managing shipping schedules, coordinating with carriers, preparing shipping documents, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

Shipment Coordination:

• Coordinate and schedule shipments of products according to customer orders, production schedules, and inventory levels.
• Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers to arrange transportation and delivery of goods.
• Track shipments in transit and communicate updates to internal stakeholders and customers as needed.

Documentation and Compliance:

• Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, shipping labels, customs paperwork, and export documentation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, international trade regulations, and shipping laws for domestic and international shipments.
• Verify accuracy and completeness of shipping documentation and resolve any discrepancies or issues.

Inventory Management:

• Monitor inventory levels and stock availability to fulfill customer orders and shipping requirements.
• Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure timely picking, packing, and staging of products for shipment.
• Conduct periodic inventory checks and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.

Customer Service:

• Serve as a point of contact for customers regarding shipping inquiries, order status updates, and delivery arrangements.
• Address customer concerns or issues related to shipping delays, damages, or missing items, and provide timely resolutions.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers, carriers, and logistics partners to ensure high levels of satisfaction.

Cost Management:

• Obtain shipping quotes and negotiate rates with carriers to optimize transportation costs while meeting service level requirements.
• Monitor shipping expenses, freight charges, and related costs to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiency.
• Review invoices and billing statements for accuracy and reconcile discrepancies with carriers or vendors as needed.

Process Improvement:

• Identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks in the shipping process and propose solutions for improvement.
• Implement best practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality control measures to streamline shipping operations and enhance productivity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, operations, and customer service, to implement process improvements and achieve organizational goals.

Education:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
• Additional certification or training in logistics preferred.

Experience:

• Prior experience in shipping, logistics, transportation, or a related field is often preferred.
• Candidates with experience in roles such as shipping clerk, logistics coordinator, freight coordinator, or warehouse associate may have relevant skills and knowledge applicable to a Shipping Coordinator position.
• Fork-Lift experience preferred but not required
