Job summary

RTC is seeking a shipping clerk to support the daily shipping operations at our Romeoville location in Illinois. You will handle shipping transactions, process UPS/FedEx parcels, and generate necessary documents for outbound orders.

Ideal candidates have 0–1 years in shipping clerical work, are proficient in Excel, and comfortable with ERP systems. A team-oriented mindset and strong communication are essential for coordinating with plant departments.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 0-1 years clerical experience in a shipping capacity is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; ERP software experience is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with solid communication skills.
• Team player with strong work ethic and knowledge of warehouse/shipping operations.

Responsibilities

• Support the Shipping Department by performing all required daily shipping transactions.
• Process small parcel shipments via UPS and Fed Ex through SSL.
• Process sales orders, generate outbounds, prepare labels, and other documents.
• Process shipment lines, prepare packing list, and Bill of Ladings preparation.
• Create/update spreadsheets and maintain client routing information.
• Communicate with Rolling Meadows (Corporate) and other Plant Departments daily.
• Prepare small package shipments, process LTL orders and trailerload shipments, update LN orders.
• Ensure inventory availability.

Job Summary

This role will support the shipping department by performing all required daily shipping transactions.

Essential Functions

• Support the Shipping Department by performing all required daily shipping transactions utilizing the LN system
• Process required small parcel Shipments via UPS and Fed Ex through SSL
• Process sales orders, generate outbounds, prepare labels, and other special documents as required by the Sales Order or Client
• Process shipment lines, prepare packing list, and the preparation of the Bill of Ladings
• Create and update spreadsheets and maintain the Client routing
• Communicate via phone or email with Rolling Meadows (Corporate) and other Plant Departments daily.
• Preparation of small package shipments, processing of LTL orders, processing of trailerload shipments, posting of Sales orders in order to update LN, checking of the open order report
• Responsible for inventory availability

Education, Experience, Skills Required

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• 0-1 years prior clerical experience in a shipping capacity.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel. ERP software experience is a definite plus.
• Detail-oriented with solid communication skills.
• Must be a team player, have a strong work ethic, and knowledge of warehouse and shipping operations
• Available and willing to work a flexible work schedule based on workload. This means start and stop times may change as the workload changes.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is budgeted for $35,027-$49,739, with eligibility for OT after 40 hours worked and an annual bonus. The actual base salary depends on various factors and could be above or below the range depending on the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, specific skills, level of education, business needs, and market demand. The full salary range for this role reflects this position's competitive labor market value and provides an opportunity to progress as associates grow and develop within the role. Bonuses are paid based on RTC’s financial results. Any payouts awarded in the first year of employment are pro-rated based on the start date. Program rules are subject to change at management’s discretion.
