Job summary

O'Neal Industries, Inc. is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator to manage the flow of materials from receipt through delivery. You will operate forklifts and other equipment to move items, prepare shipping documents, and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to read blueprints, and proficiency with measuring tools. This position offers competitive hourly pay and a daytime-to-evening shift, with a second-shift differential

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely.
  • Must be able to read and interpret simple blueprints.
  • Proficiency with measuring tools and calibration devices.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in records.
  • Proficient in conversational English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, store, move, and prepare materials for production and delivery.
  • Ensure accurate handling of incoming/outgoing shipments and prepare shipping documents.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and related equipment to move materials.
  • Maintain safe, efficient material flow and compliance with safety policies.

Job description

Position: Shipping and Receiving Coordinator
Pay: $18 - $22/hr Paid Weekly + $4/hr shift differential once you move to 2nd shift
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 330pm-2am (Training is Mon-Fri 7am-4pm)
Position Summary:

Responsible for receiving, storing, moving, and preparing materials and products for production and delivery. Ensures accurate handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, safely operates material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, and maintains efficient material flow throughout the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Safety Commitment:
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Prepare records of orders shipped (make up bills of lading, post weight and shipping charges, keep files of shipping records)
  • Receive incoming shipments of materials or orders to the company (verify correctness of shipments against bills of lading, report damaged goods and shortages, routes good to the proper departments
  • Operate forklifts, hand trucks, cranes, and other material handling equipment to move materials within the facility
Qualifications and Skills:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic critical thinking skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, and material handling equipment safely Must be able to operate overhead cranes utilizing pendant radio controls. Must maintain certifications for required equipment.
  • Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measure.
  • Knowledge of safe and best practices for loading and unloading materials from trailers or trucks.
  • Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as box calipers, slide dial calipers, and micrometers.
  • Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints.
  • Ability to speak, write, and comprehend conversational English.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, including walking 2-5 miles per shift.
  • Ability to bend, sit, stand, twist, and stoop repeatedly for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing 25lbs - 50lbs from floor to waist and front carry up to 25lbs - 50lbs, repeatedly per shift.
  • Ability to reach overhead, squat, kneel, and climb short ladders or steps.
  • Ability to maintain coordination of hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects with precision.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Ability to read labels, follow safety and standard operating procedures, and communicate effectively in an industrial environment.
  • 20/30 vision with the use of corrective lenses.
  • Subject to environmental conditions that occur indoors and outdoors which include, but are not limited to:
  • Exposure to changing temperatures, loud noises, and vibration from use of equipment.
  • Hazards: proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to high heat, and exposure to chemicals.
  • Atmospheric conditions: fumes, odors, dust, mist, gas, or poor ventilation that may affect the respiratory system or skin.
  • Oils: air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
