Metal Craft, Elk River, MN, is hiring a Shipping Clerk to perform day-to-day shipping operations with focus on accuracy and quality. The role requires attention to detail, ability to process shipments, and maintain shipping records.

1st shift, non-exempt hourly position with health and retirement benefits. The ideal candidate will handle packing, labeling, and shipping calculations while supporting inventory and clerical tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or office/shipping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Compares information and verifies shipments against packing slips, PO, invoices, or orders.
• Affixes shipping labels and identifies shipping information on cartons.
• Assembles containers and prepares items for shipping.
• Inserts items with proper packaging to protect during transport.
• Issues purchase orders to vendors and contacts suppliers on issues/deliveries.
• Calculates weights and shipping charges and affixes postage.
• Receives, unpacks, and inspects shipments; handles damages/shortages with shippers.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and updates schedule board.
