Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in related shipping/receiving field.
  • Must be able to operate MS Word, Excel and Outlook; AS400 experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.

TITLE: SHIPPING & RECEIVING CLERKREPORTS TO: MOS/SHIPPING SUPERVISORDEPARTMENT: SHIPPING AND RECEIVINGGRADE:FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt _X_ Exempt _ _COST CENTER:SUMMARYTo help direct activities involved in the shipment and receiving of materials.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Perform all clerical type duties such as: type bills of lading and related forms, photograph outgoing shipments, prepares loaders check list, signs receipts and freight bills, prepares receiving reports and insures shipments conform to shipping orders.Works with trucking companies to book loads for shipment.Operates and is responsible for miscellaneous office and materials handling equipment such as computer, calculator, camera, and two wheel truck.Establish and maintain good working relations with employees.Has a thorough knowledge of all operations and equipment as well as the various types and sizes of plastic pipe products.Completes daily loading tickets for Shipping and Receiving departments.Teaches, advocates, and uses safe working practices and reports hazardous conditions at all times.Maintains good housekeeping program at all times.Fills out miscellaneous reports as necessary and conducts periodic inventory checks as required.Maintains efficient use of warehouse and storage facilities.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NoneWORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
