Job description

Position Summary

The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and completing them daily.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Compares identifying information and counts, and weights against all incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, orders, or other records.

  • Schedules receiving appointments.

  • Examines incoming receiving paperwork for required information (e.g., code dates, mfg dates, etc.).

  • Prints out shipping pick lists using Excel sheets and verifies inventory in the system first for complete FEFO accuracy.

  • Routes paperwork to department personnel.

  • Double checks all inbound and outbound paperwork for accuracy before keying information into the system; includes making sure all pick list and trailer map sheets are turned in with every load.

  • Prints out all BOLs for outbound shipment and applies the seal number and signature with every load.

  • Maintains all paperwork in a neat organized manner to include all load paperwork together to be scanned into D365 when processing has been completed.

  • Maintains both shipping and receiving compliance logs daily for accuracy.

  • Must cross train in all areas of the office to keep it efficient and responsive to customer needs.

  • Promotes a safe work environment through training and implementation.

  • Suggest changes in the working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the department or team.

  • Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety, and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Ensures that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed.

  • Follows all company policies and procedures as well as GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).

  • Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident‑free workplace.

  • Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety‑related issues to Management.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.



Qualifications


  • Computer: should understand general workings of a PC and be able to utilize Word and Excel programs.

  • Integrity: adherence to moral and ethical principles; sound moral character; honesty.

  • Analytical: ability to visualize, articulate, solve both complex and uncomplicated problems and concepts, and make decisions that make sense.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of diverse individuals within the plant and corporate environments.

  • Ability to compute by adding, subtracting and averaging numbers.

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, correlate, and present data.

  • Ability to work independently and as a team.

  • Perform cycle counts.

  • Ability to become forklift certified.

  • Ability to work under deadlines.

  • Adaptability: the ability to understand, accept and embrace change is necessary for the development of the department.
