Job description

We are seeking a Shipping Clerk to join our team! This is a TEMP-TO-HIRE position with a manufacturing company in the University Park area.

Schedule and Compensation

1st shift 7am-3pm M-F
$18-$18.50 per hour depending on experience

Responsibilities

1. Assist with coordinating and scheduling timely shipment of orders to customers using outside trucking and logistics companies, following customer instructions.
2. Type manifests, prepare shipping paperwork, and review for accuracy.
3. Input routing information into third-party logistics websites.
4. Pull bills of lading for finished and closed work orders.
5. Prepare UPSN and FDEG shipping labels.
6. Review shipped paperwork, Bills of Lading (BOLs), scan and invoice for accuracy.
7. Send ASN and invoices to EDI customers; email invoices to non-EDI customers; print back order paperwork; forward closed and completed paperwork to the office for filing.
8. Participate in performance improvement measures, recommend improvements, and support training and learning.
9. Maintain timely paperwork and files related to the position.
10. Support other team members and perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Maintain excellent attendance per employee handbook guidelines.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment or related training (preferred).
• Proficiency with database, email, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
• Strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of shipping processes and procedures.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
