Our client in San Diego is seeking a reliable Shipping Clerk to support daily warehouse and logistics operations. You will prepare, package, label, and ship orders, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery. Experience with shipping systems, inventory tracking, and warehouse operations is preferred.

The role involves handling carriers like UPS, FedEx, and USPS, using ERP or warehouse management systems, and maintaining safe, efficient workspace. Forklift cert helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Proven shipping/receiving/logistics experience preferred.
• Experience with shipping software and barcode scanners.
• Familiarity with UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, or ERP systems is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments per requirements.
• Verify quantities, part numbers, and shipment docs for accuracy.
• Process shipments using UPS, FedEx, USPS.
• Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and bills of lading.
• Maintain accurate inventory/shipping records in ERP or WMS.
• Receive incoming materials and inspect deliveries for damage.
• Keep warehouse organized, clean, and safe at all times.
• Coordinate with production, purchasing, and customer service teams.
• Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory control.
• Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts safely.

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to support daily warehouse and logistics operations. This role is responsible for preparing, packaging, labeling, and shipping customer orders while ensuring accuracy, quality, and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience with shipping systems, inventory tracking, and warehouse operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments according to company and customer requirements
• Verify product quantities, part numbers, and shipment documentation for accuracy
• Process shipments using carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and USPS
• Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and bills of lading
• Maintain accurate inventory and shipping records within ERP or warehouse management systems
• Receive incoming materials and inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies
• Organize inventory and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment
• Coordinate with production, purchasing, and customer service teams to ensure timely order fulfillment
• Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory control activities
• Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts safely when needed
• Follow company safety procedures and shipping compliance standards

Qualifications

• Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics operations preferred
• Experience using shipping software and barcode scanners
• Familiarity with UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, or ERP systems is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer and data entry skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Forklift certification is a plus but not required
