Job summary

Farwest in Boise, ID is seeking a Shipping Clerk to join the Shipping Department and ensure efficient material movement. You will coordinate trucks, prepare shipping documents, and perform data entry to support on-time deliveries.

This full-time, onsite position offers a Monday–Friday schedule (12:00PM–8:30PM) with starting wages of $20.50–$24.50 per hour, depending on experience. A high school diploma and related shipping experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: shipping dept or related experience.
• Knowledge of Lean and Kaizen principles preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft programs and related software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate/schedule company trucks and drivers, inbound carriers, and secondary dispatch.
• Prepare shipping documents for drivers and carriers.
• Complete data entry for shipments.
• Maintain continuous improvement in shipping processes.
• Coordinate with operations to optimize shipping and inter-department efficiencies.

About this position:

Farwest’s Shipping Department seeks an organized and customer-oriented individual to join their Boise team as Shipping Clerk. In this role, you will provide quality service to our customers by performing tasks associated with the shipping of materials.

Job Type: Full Time, Onsite

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 12:00PM - 8:30PM, with some flexibility in schedule.

Starting Wage: $20.50 - $24.50, depending on experience

Key responsibilities:

• Coordinating/ Scheduling of company trucks and drivers, In-bound carriers, secondary dispatch of drivers, Secondary dispatch of drivers, sub haulers as required
• Prepare a variety of shipping documents for company drivers and common carriers.
• Complete data entry associated with shipments.
• Maintain high degree of continuous improvement.
• Prepare and maintain Oracle & K2 responsibilities.
• Coordinate with operations staff to optimize shipping and inter-department efficiencies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous shipping department or related experience.
• Knowledge of Lean and Kaizen principles.
• Previous customer service experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft programs and related software.

Professional Competencies:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• High degree of attention to detail.
• Strong multitasking and decision-making skills.
• Ability to perform tasks under tight deadline requirements.
