Job summary

IDEX is seeking a dedicated individual for a full-time, on-site position focused on supporting shipping operations at Hale Products Inc. Responsibilities include retrieving products for shipment, processing shipping information, and maintaining professionalism while interacting with customers.

Applicants should have at least 3 months of experience in fast-paced shipping operations and a high school diploma or equivalent. Strong English communication skills and basic computer knowledge are also required.

Job description

Position Summary

Full‑time, on‑site position at Hale Products Inc. focused on supporting shipping operations by picking, preparing, and processing items for delivery. The role begins as a temporary assignment through our partnered employment agency, with potential to transition to a regular employee position based on performance and business needs.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Retrieve product for shipment from multiple material storage locations.
  • Compare identifying information and counts, weigh, or measure items of outgoing product to verify information against picking ticket or other records.
  • Assemble containers according to shipper/customer specifications to ensure safe delivery.
  • Process shipping information using shipper’s software.
  • Affix shipping information to packaged container for identification by carrier or customer.
  • Apply special package handling instructions as required by carrier or customer.
  • Use material handling devices (e.g., forklift) for retrieval and movement of product.
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct in dealings with carrier, vendors, and customers.
  • Support late parcel pickup operations and close‑of‑business duties.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Required Abilities
  • Ability to clearly write information pertinent to customer request in English.
  • Ability to read written instructions in English.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using measurements in weight, volume, and quantity.
  • Maintain professional conduct in dealing with customers and vendors.
  • Ability to use common sense to carry out written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic computer skills to navigate inventory/shipping applications and send emails.
Education and Experience

At least 3 months of experience in fast‑paced shipping operations. High school education or equivalent, or up to six‑month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand and walk; occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must lift or move up to 50 pounds individually and over 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required: close vision and ability to adjust focus to read BOMs, work orders, and pick tickets. May be exposed to various workplace hazards, including chemicals, machinery, and noise. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
