Job summary

Staffmark in Napoleon, OH is hiring a Shipping Clerk for an on-site role paying $20.00 per hour with a 11 am - 7 pm schedule. You will assist the warehouse manager and team to meet customer needs, process shipping and receiving documentation, maintain accurate records, and communicate with drivers, warehouse staff, and suppliers.

Forklift operation and safety are part of the job. Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent; forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain;

Qualifications

• Experience with WMS, inventory software or yard management systems is a plus.
• Strong data entry and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional customer service via phone and email.

Job Summary: Assist warehouse manager or supervisor to ensure customer's needs are met on assigned shift.

Job Duties

• Provide professional customer service via phone and email while resolving routine customer inquiries.
• Serve as a liaison between customers, warehouse personnel, suppliers, drivers, and transportation teams.
• Process shipping and receiving documentation while maintaining accurate records and reports.
• Verify inventory counts, shipping paperwork, and load documentation for accuracy.
• Update and maintain warehouse management and yard management systems.
• Answer phones, manage correspondence, and perform general clerical duties.
• Support continuous improvement, corrective actions, and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Assist with food safety compliance in food-grade warehouse environments when applicable.
• Communicate directly with drivers, forklift operators, and warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Operate a forklift as needed, including inspections, loading/unloading, product placement, and safety compliance.
• Assist warehouse leadership in ensuring customer needs are met during assigned shifts.

Education Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Additional education, certifications, or vocational training may be beneficial depending on the position.
• Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain Industrial Truck Certification through company training.

Experience Requirements

• Previous customer service, warehouse clerical, logistics coordination, or administrative experience preferred.
• Strong data entry skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory software, or yard management systems preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and common office equipment.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to lift, move, and position materials weighing up to 75 pounds with or without assistance.
• Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and stooping throughout the shift.
• Ability to safely operate material handling equipment including pallet jacks, forklifts, and dollies when required.
• Comfortable working in warehouse conditions, including varying temperatures, dust, noise, and other industrial environments.
