Job summary

Tarrytown Expocare Pharmacy, a long-term care pharmacy, is seeking a Shipping Clerk in Morton Grove, IL to sort and organize completed prescriptions and prepare packages for delivery.

You will use pharmacy operating software and handheld scanners to ensure accuracy, collaborating with pharmacists and technicians to maintain efficient shipping workflows in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to multi-task and work with the shipping team and Pharmacists/Technicians.
• Understanding of basic production processes for packaging and shipping.
• Ability to learn locations and organizational structure of the company.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and complete projects on time.

Responsibilities

• Sort and organize completed prescriptions
• Use Pharmacy operating software and Dispatch and Routing software
• Use handheld Scanner to capture bar code digital information
• Prepare packages for delivery: print Packing Lists, inspect for accuracy, stage, and route
• Performing other duties as assigned

• Sort and organize completed prescriptions
• Use Pharmacy operating software and Dispatch and Routing software

• Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to multi-task and work with other members of the shipping and distribution team as well as Pharmacists and Technicians
• Understanding of basic production processes for packaging and shipping
• Ability to develop continuous improvements in the shipping department
• Basic understanding of, or the ability to learn, locations and organizational structure of the company
• Ability to correctly sort and distribute large amounts of medications
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to complete projects in a timely manner
• Ability to work with little oversight and/or guidance
• Must be able to speak and write English

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

• FedEx Shipping / Overnight Shipping Experience is a Plus
• Experience working in a Commercial Pharmacy is a Plus

Physical Requirements:

• Sitting, standing, walking, lifting, pulling, speaking, listening
• Must be able to occasionally lift bulk packaging weighing up to 40 pounds
• Must be able to traverse close quarters easily
