Job description

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team. This role involves various clerical duties, including managing shipping and billing processes, ensuring timely communication with carriers, and performing tasks using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and more. Experience with Oracle and R12 is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate must be able to work standard business hours in a fast-paced environment.

Duties And Responsibilities
  1. Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, organizing documents, maintaining records, and assisting with office operations related to shipping and receiving.
  2. Use office equipment to copy and scan important documents related to shipping and billing for accurate record-keeping.
  3. Input shipping and billing information into databases or systems (e.g., Oracle, R12) and ensure all records are updated correctly.
  4. Reply to carrier inquiries and customer service requests in a professional and timely manner. Ensure all communications are clear, accurate, and documented.
  5. Use Microsoft Excel to manage spreadsheets, track shipments, and generate reports. Utilize Microsoft Word for preparing documents and correspondence.
  6. Assist in coordinating shipments and preparing necessary documentation such as packing lists, shipping labels, and bills of lading.
  7. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance and be able to adapt to varying work hours, including some Saturdays as required.
Qualifications
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Previous experience in shipping and receiving department performing clerical and administrative duties.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with Oracle and R12 systems is a plus.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and efficiently.
  6. Dependable and able to meet deadlines while maintaining professionalism.
  7. Availability to work during normal business hours, with flexibility to work some Saturdays as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as required for handling documents and shipping materials.
