SSAB Special Steels is seeking a motivated, performance-driven Billing Clerk (Shift) to join our Shipping Department in Mobile, Alabama. We are committed to safety and adding value, and we look for someone eager to grow their career. This position is on-site.

About the Position

The Billing Clerk ensures the accuracy and efficiency of the shipping process by communicating with loaders, dispatch, carriers, and working with Rail Scale, QA, and the strapping crew. The role involves identifying and correcting errors with railcars, barges, orders, ESD, and bundles, supporting planners, schedulers, dispatchers, and management to maintain quality, efficiency, and customer service.

Main Responsibilities

1. Process bill loads and all related documents accurately and efficiently.
2. Identify and correct errors with orders and bundles in MES and CORIS.
3. Make necessary changes in the loading process.
4. Receive and process delivery trucks, railcars, and barges.
5. Ensure correct materials are loaded onto carriers, railcars, and barges.
6. Check for weight variances and shipping details such as weather protection, rates, routes, and load details.
7. Release outbound railcars.
8. Update and monitor railcar switch forms.
9. Prepare documents for billed and released loads to Rail Scale.
10. Monitor and log alarms and control measures in the scale house.
11. Assist with inventory management and quality assurance.
12. Maintain shipping reports and scale house office equipment inventory.

About You

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Familiar with reports and navigating databases.
3. Excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills.
4. Preferred: Scale house or shipping experience, billing experience, MES familiarity.
