Job summary

Pelican Products is seeking an on-site Shipping Associate in South Deerfield, MA. You will prepare, package, and load shipments, verify accuracy, and maintain records in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years shipping experience, a High School Diploma or equivalent, and basic computer skills. Forklift certification during the initial trial period is preferred, with emphasis on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of shipping experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience preparing, packaging, and loading products for shipment.
• Ability to accurately count, weigh, label, and verify outgoing materials.
• Basic computer skills and comfort using internal systems to track products and maintain shipping records.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Forklift experience preferred; must obtain forklift certification during the initial trial period.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to shipping orders accurately and safely.
• Ability to work effectively with others in a fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare outgoing products and materials for shipment according to established procedures and work instructions.
• Count, weigh, and verify outgoing shipments to ensure orders are accurate before they leave the facility.
• Identify and report shortages, damaged products, or other shipment concerns.
• Package, strap, weigh, and label products for safe and accurate shipment.
• Load trucks and containers using floor-loading methods or a forklift when required.
• Operate internal computer systems to check product status, track shipments, and maintain records.
• Work from purchase orders, system data, shipping procedures, and written or verbal instructions.
• Maintain daily shipping, production, and material movement records as required.
• Identify and report faulty equipment, damaged materials, or unsafe conditions.
