Job summary

Pelican Products is hiring a Shipper I (1st Shift) for our South Deerfield, MA facility. You will prepare outgoing products, verify shipments, package and label, and load trucks using forklifts as needed in a fast-paced warehouse.

The role requires 1–2 years shipping experience and a high school diploma. Basic computer skills, ability to follow instructions, and forklift certification are preferred. Overtime and shift times are 6am–2:30pm ET, onsite only.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of shipping experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience preparing, packaging, and loading products for shipment.
• Ability to accurately count, weigh, label, and verify outgoing materials.
• Basic computer skills and comfort using internal systems to track products and maintain shipping records.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Forklift experience preferred; must obtain forklift certification during the initial trial period.

Responsibilities

• Prepare outgoing products and materials for shipment according to established shipping procedures and work instructions.
• Count, weigh, and verify outgoing shipments to ensure orders are accurate before they leave the facility.
• Identify and report shortages, damaged products, or other shipment concerns.
• Package, strap, weigh, and label products for safe and accurate shipment.
• Load trucks and containers using floor-loading methods or a forklift based on shipment requirements.
• Operate internal computer systems to check product status, track shipments, and maintain accurate records.
• Work from purchase orders, computer-generated information, shipping procedures, and written or verbal instructions.
• Maintain daily shipping, production, and material movement records as required.
• Identify and report faulty equipment, damaged materials, or unsafe conditions to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping and warehouse area.
• Follow all established safety procedures and Pelican quality standards.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to shipping orders accurately and safely.
• Ability to work effectively with others in a fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment.
• Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6am-2:30pm Eastern Time

Additinal Information:

• This is an onsite position in South Deerfield, Massachusetts.
• Flexibility with working hours and overtime is required based on shipping and business needs.
• Overtime may include evenings and weekends, with or without advance notice.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment.
