Job summary

Charcuterie Artisans in Maryland is hiring a Shipping Associate to handle, package, and ship finished goods and materials in our USDA-inspected facility. You will ensure timely and accurate movement of products while maintaining safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance.

This role requires basic computer skills, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and comfort working in a refrigerated environment (45–55°F). Day schedule Mon-Fri with occasional Saturdays; forklift experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is a plus.
• Forklift certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Print labels and label boxes.
• Scan boxes into system and weigh finished pallets.
• Handle and move packaged goods safely and efficiently.
• Build and ship sample and customer orders according to specifications.
• Maintain a sanitary work environment and follow safety protocols.
• Receive and ship products using proper handling techniques and computer entry systems.
• Maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation.
• Operate basic material handling equipment; forklift experience is a plus.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Schedule: Mon-Fri 6:15am-2:45pm, occasional Saturdays as needed

The Shipping Associate is responsible for handling, packaging, and shipping finished goods and materials in a USDA-inspected food manufacturing facility. This role ensures timely and accurate movement of products while maintaining safety, cleanliness, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Print labels
• Label boxes
• Scan boxes into system
• Weigh finished pallets and document for BOL’s
• Handle and move packaged goods safely and efficiently.
• Build and ship sample and customer orders according to specifications.
• Perform general cleaning and maintain a sanitary work environment.
• Receive and ship products using proper handling techniques and computer entry systems.
• Maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation.
• Operate basic material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks); forklift experience is a plus.
• Follow all safety protocols and report any hazards or incidents to management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to speak, read, and understand English.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office); inventory experience is a plus.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a refrigerated environment (45–55°F) for the entire shift.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
• Knowledge of product safety and food handling standards preferred.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is a plus.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in a cold, fast-paced production and warehouse environment.
• Requires physical activity including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
